Announcing our 2015 Summer Camps
Whether you play the clarinet or the cello or just love to sing, come join us for a fun-filled week of day camps featuring your ensemble of choice!
Each day will include full ensemble rehearsals with our directors, sectional coachings on students instruments or voices, exciting electives, and more. The camp finishes with a Summer Finale Concert on Friday evening, so be sure to invite your friends and family to come out and enjoy a great performance by our students! Our summer camp instructors will include Azusa Pacific University faculty members Alexander Koops (band) and Jeff Williams (strings), as well as the Azusa Conservatory's Charles Horton conducting the choir camp. |
This eight week program is designed to provide the opportunity for young musicians to play together in a rock band setting. The program meets twice a week, once on Saturday mornings 10am-12pm for a rock music theory class and rehearsal, and once by arrangement during weekday evenings for a guided rehearsal. Students will be put into small groups to work with for the length of the program. The groups will all perform two songs at the recital, one cover and one that they write as a band! To build the excitement of the program the groups (student bands) will be competing to perform at a live music venue for the Azusa Conservatory of Music Benefit Concert on August 2nd. The competition will be judged at the end of summer competition recital. Students will also have the opportunity to win fun prizes for their individual ticket sales for the Benefit Concert!
